Theft prevention measures

With the right theft prevention measures, you can reduce losses and theft from occurring in your operations. We offer a range of solutions for various markets and needs. The following is a description of some of the measures we suggest. We also offer store safety training.

Floorwalker service

Our floorwalker service is designed to prevent and counteract shoplifting, theft and losses in retail environments. This service is performed by specially trained uniformed guards or civilian floorwalkers. Floorwalkers monitor particularly vulnerable areas containing goods that are likely to be stolen and suggest possible adjustments that could be made to prevent these goods from disappearing.

If there is reason to believe that a crime has been committed, the security officers are on site to arrest the suspect and call the police. A police report is filed for each incident, including a detailed description of the course of events.

Test shopping service

Our test shopping service can be used as a preventive tool for monitoring employees’ integrity during cash transactions. The service is always performed by two plain-clothes officers from Securitas, who pose as customers conducting normal purchases. Times, locations and the identity of the test shoppers vary to ensure that your employees never know when or how they are being monitored. We provide you with feedback and suggest possible improvements.

Mystery shopper service

Our mystery shopper service acts as a form of quality control of your employees and the service they provide your customers, which can be followed up with information and training. The service can be used to monitor your employees’ attentiveness, skill and cashier procedures, as well as their behavior towards customers. Times, locations and the identity of the mystery shoppers vary to ensure that your employees never know when or how they are being monitored. We provide you with feedback and suggest possible improvements.

Delivery checks

Delivery checks, which may involve checking goods or vehicles, are intended to prevent losses from occurring during deliveries. During delivery checks, we ensure that the delivered goods match the delivery note: the number of packages are counted, their contents are weighed and a delivery receipt is issued. For major deliveries, we perform test checks in accordance with your wishes. All deviations are noted and reported to you in writing. During vehicle checks, shipments are monitored to ensure, for example, that the vehicle is empty after the final delivery. Any returns are monitored and reported.

Bar and restaurant checks

Securitas’ bar and restaurant checks are designed to prevent and monitor losses in bar, restaurant and tavern environments, both on land and on cruise ships. The service is flexible and tailored to suit your wishes and needs. The service includes monitoring your employees’ handling of wardrobe and entrance fees, as well as bar and restaurant sales. The service level and general orderliness of your establishment can also be monitored in accordance with your wishes.

Bar and restaurant checks are performed by at least two plain-clothes officers, who pose as normal patrons and carefully observe the way your employees handle money and tips, as well as checking that current prices are applied. At bars, we can also monitor the quality of your bar staff’s procedures and service. After the check is completed, the customer receives feedback on the business, with a focus on losses and customer interaction.

Exit checks

During exit checks, uniformed security officers monitor any objects being removed from the workplace by employees or suppliers who are authorized to enter the premises.

Unannounced checks are performed by one or two security officers at the company’s employee exit. During the checks, employees are asked to show any bags they have with them and confirm any purchases with valid receipts or payment certificate. This service is intended to prevent and detect internal losses.
